What is Home Media Manager?

The Home Media Manager, is an upgrade to the Fios TV DVR product. It is an excellent choice for families who wish to watch recorded shows on other TVs within the household and view pictures and listen to music from their PC on their TV. ( If this is confusing, post the question in comments below :-))

Media Manager is a part of the Fios Media Manager. While it is a free download, you must order the Fios Home Media DVR service. You can use Media Manager only on your Home Media DVR hub Motorola QIP6416. Please note that Media Manager is not supported on the QIP2500 media terminals.

What does the Home Media DVR include?

Home Media DVR includes the following two components:
  • Multi-room DVR: You can view TV programs recorded on your existing DVR on other TVs with non-DVR set top boxes.

  • Media Manager: Use your TV to view photos and music stored on your PC, assemble custom playlists and slide shows to share with your TV and choose from the list of playlists and slide shows to enjoy on your TV.

You mentioned there are known SW problems with Verizon Media Manager. I ordered the feature several months ago and it never has worked correctly. I have contacted technical support numerous times. Techs have come out and they even replaced the DVR.

While you can order HMM, it doesnt work yet. Verizon is crediting everyone who has ordered it. And once they resolve their SW problem, it still wont work with HD content
