What is BBU? BBU- Battery Backup Unit is installed inside your house or garage. Unlike your old phone equipment, the new Fiber equipment relies on commercial power at your house. That means if you loose power in the house, you will loose all Fiber services. The Fios folks came up with a BBU unit which will provide power to your phone in the event of a power outage.
